Friday February 3rd:
Ashley Raines & The New West Revue
Ashley Raines's career speaks for itself. Signing with Howlin Dog Records in the fall of 1999, and releasing 'Th' Roads We're On' and then 'These Haunted Streets' in the spring of 2000, Ashley has sky rocketed at a break neck pace. Shortly there after Ashley moved to Los Angeles and recorded with David Baerwald (Tuesday night music club, Sheryl crow), as well building lasting relationships with Phil Roy (songwriter, Ray Charles, Aaron Nevelle) and Leonard Cohen's son Adam Cohen. Ashley Raines uses lap steel and acoustic as well as various unique guitars (high strung) to convey the message of music. His voice is that of a wayward angel and the lyrics speak of everything from being 'sick in the head' to accepting that 'its just become a habit' and then the redemption of letting go. Ashley Raines music over the last few years has matured, and the lyrics that come from this twenty six year old have matured with it. ASHLEY RAINES on MYSPACE

Andy Frasco is nothing short of an enigma. Influenced by Damien Rice, Sam Cooke, Van Morrison and Tom Waits, Frasco’s style is as uninhibited as those artists who inspire him. Within the past two years alone, Frasco has performed over 500 shows, and spanned the country at least six times. This revolutionary is on a mission to alter the music business as we know it. What’s more, Frasco does not come from a musical background. His family played no instruments, and it wasn’t until the age of 17 that Frasco met his soul mate: the piano. At 19 years old, Frasco traveled to New York to work with friend and colleague Jordan Stilwell, producing his first album Growth and Progress. From there, Frasco toured the country with VH1’s Save the Music Foundation, raising money for Music Education in the Public Schools. Andy Frasco has jammed with artists such as Katie Herzig, Butch Walker, The Flobots, Spill Canvas, Suburban Legends, Nural, Ryan Gillmor, Tyler Hilton and Berlin. John Mayer even opened for Andy Frasco. Frasco may just be the “Second Coming” of blues music for this emerging generation, changing the course of mainstream music in a blazing path of glory that will someday take him home.

Coral Thief is a Reggae/Rock band with roots from multiple states converging to create a unique and smooth sound in the thriving Denver music scene. The band was formed in 2009 by founding members David Baty on vocals and guitarist Chris Howell whose instant musical connection immediately led to laying down the foundation for the bands current material. Coral Thief went through its growth and developmental stages finally landing craigslist nominated bassist Justin Crane who was eventually followed by South Dakota based Troy Hite on percussion and keys. Troy’s connection with the Minneapolis music scene brought in Kit drummer Ape (Christopher Hicks) to complete the mold to be known as C.T. With the passion and energy streaming from the members of the band, you can’t help but move to the music of Coral Thief.
Over the course of the past fifteen years, singer/songwriter
Scott Ibex has crafted music in a variety of genres. From what
he dubs psychedelic bluegrass, to solo acoustic tapping/fingerstyle
guitar, to his unique blend of reggae infused acoustic rock,
Ibex is most certainly an original.
As a self-taught musician drawing from a variety of musical
influences, Ibex first fell in love with song at the age of 6
when he learned violin. By the age of 10, he was performing
classical piano at recitals, and at 14 he picked up guitar and
never looked back. After learning bass, drums, and finding his
vocal soul at 15, a songwriter who would one day perform
multiple instruments on his own rock album was born.
In addition to his personal songwriting achievements, Ibex has
also developed commercially successful projects as a producer.
While drumming and managing for New York City-based The Power
Apes, he individually wrote and produced two of the six Power
Apes songs, “Hot Legs and Hotel Bars,” and “Just Wanna Party,”
licensed to MTV and aired on their television program, “All-Star
Backyard Bar-b-que.”
Kat knows that one of her sole purposes in this life is to make music, sing and share it with the world! Drawing an abundance of inspiration from her endless life experiences and the artists she grew up emulating, Kat’s music is playful, emotional, rebellious, confessional, and funky. Her sound is a melodic style of rock blended with Reggae, Ska, and Hip Hop influences creating a fun but serious sound that continues to win over fans where ever Kat performs.
Midwest reggae rockers Jon Wayne and The Pain have been carving
a sizable niche in the reggae-rock genre. Their 2010 sophomore
release “Follow Through” builds upon the success of the group’s
self-titled 2008 debut album, once again showcasing their unique
mix of reggae, rock, and dub that fans can’t get enough of.
Reliably packing dance floors, the perpetually touring act has
really evolved in the past year on the road. Their sound
continues to morph with their live Dub-Step experimentation and
high energy renditions of their original and catchy recorded
tracks.
"If your looking for an album that blends Sublime, Long Beach
Dub Allstars, and Slightly Stoopid rolled into one then look no
further."

Psychedelic Soul, sometimes called black Rock, is a sub-genre of Soul music, which mixes the characteristics of Soul with Psychedelic Rock. It came to prominence in the late 1960s and continued into the 1970s, playing a major role in the development of Soul and Funk music. Over the past seven years, Monophonics have staked their claim as one of California’s premier band’s. Raised amid the Bay Area’s rich musical culture, Monophonics has proudly carried on the tradition of music native to their hometown which flourished during the birth of psychedelia. As a mainstay of San Francisco venues such as The Independent & Boom Boom Room, the Monophonics have created a national buzz and fervent local following, sharing the stage & bill with such names as Budos Band, Orgone, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Kings Go Forth, Soulive and many more. Their touring schedule has brought their signature rowdy, hard-hitting live set to over 400 dates from California up to Motown and down to Louisiana establishing themselves as yearly residents at the legendary New Orleans Jazz Festival. Just recently in 2011, Monophonics have completed their third album to date entitled In Your Brain, lacing the sounds of the late 60’s/early 70’s dark psych soul with fuzz guitars, analog tape echo and reverbs, vintage keyboards, hard-driving drums and bass, funky horns and gritty vocals, which is a sonic testimony to the evolution of this six-piece unit.
Trademark Infringement is a 70's/80's/90's/modern rock band out of Colorado Springs, which has only one requirement: Having a great time on stage while playing quality music for our fans (okay, so that was two -- who's counting anyway?). TMIBAND.COM
The whole of this story started in the year of our Yak two thousand and six, when a band of misfits gathered at the table of misery to find empathy. What flowed from there was a hazy mix of ale, strong drink and music. Pay no heed to the boasts that came from their lips, for all men full of the drink are rabid liars. Yet the music somehow brought these animals some ease, even I dare say satisfaction. Even to this day lords and vassals of music have a hard time assessing these chaotic beasts. “What are they doing?”, they cry and bemoan; only to be tempted by the movement of air these lumbering gypsy have imparted. Frolicking and trickery are their Nom de Plum, wandering and story telling their character. Be thou inclined to join this rabble, be warned, they are an intent hoi polloi on traveling far and wide. They seek quarter where ever a crease in the door is offered. They eat like the ravenous animals you behold.
These Gypsy Lumberjacks play music for the love of life and the
people that are entwined in being full. Delving into the world
of sound can be full of hate, love, anger, joy and the multitude
of emotions that people feel everyday. It is this time when the
husk is removed and one can join their fellow human without
paranoia.

Kris Lager Band is a Nebraska born group of musicians who have
dedi-
cated their lives to learning, living, and loving all aspects of the American music tradition. Self proclaimed "Roots Revivalists," brings an eclectic, high energy show to each and every stage they happen to land on. The musical palette from which they draw upon is strongly rooted in the Blues and Rock and Roll but, has touches of barrelhouse Country, spicy Latin beats, cajun Zydeco, and energetic Gospel music. The band consists of John Fairchild on the drums, AC Wright on the bass, Jeremiah Weir on the piano, organ, and squeeze-box , and Kris Lager on lead vocals and guitars. Proclaimed as "rewriting the rules of Alternative Country" by the Austin Chronicle, The Lonesome Heroes have emerged as a singular talent out of Austin's music scene. Songwriters Rich Russell and Landry McMeans founded the Heroes in 2005, and the pair has cultivated their New York and Texan roots into a unique sound that unites Indie Rock, Folk, and Country. The Heroes' songs evoke a Western Americana landscape littered with broken hearts, abandoned shopping malls, and crooked highways. Their lyrics have been hailed as rivaling "the best in the country world" (Smother Magazine.) Yet their sound reaches beyond the Country moniker. McMeans' lilting voice, meshed with Russell's drier vocals sits atop a multilayered nest of acoustic guitar, reverb-laden steel, and atmospheric sounds. The result is a haunting city-meets-country feeling, like a chance meeting between Yo La Tengo and Patsy Cline. The Lonesome Heroes play 150+ shows a year both locally and nationally. Playing listening rooms as a two piece and large clubs and festivals with their five-piece touring band. LONESOME HEROES on MYSPACE
Music has always been part of Lightnin’ Malcolm’s heart and
soul. From the moment he discovered an old raggedy guitar w/ a
couple of strings and cassette of Muddy Waters his life and the
music world would change forever. Malcolm’s journey began near
the railroad tracks in rural Southeast Missouri. For several
years Malcolm traveled the world spreading his love for the
blues. It wasn’t until Malcolm settled in North Mississippi that
he had a musical epiphany. He was drawn to the hill country
blues first made famous by Fred McDowell and later R.L.
Burnside, Junior Kimbrough and Jessie Mae Hemphill.
Fresh off the road Lightnin’ Malcolm forges ahead with his new
album “Renegade,” featuring 13 new original songs all written
and produced by Lightnin’ Malcolm. Recorded in Clarksdale, MS,
“Renegade” is a guitar and drums duo recording, played live and
raw in the North Mississippi hill country tradition. Joining
Lightnin’ on drums is Cameron Kimbrough, grandson of blues
legend Jr. Kimbrough. Cameron’s creative energy, versatile
playing, combined with his natural family talent creates a
perfect fit for Malcolm’s hypnotic grooves. Renegade also
features a horn section on a few tracks comprised of Jim Spake,
David McKnight, and Nahshon Benford. Lightnin’ befriended the
trio while touring with the popular Americana act Lucero.
Nadirah Shakoor (Jimmy Buffet) lends her beautiful voice on the
reggae flavored “Precious Jewel.”
